I started doing this work because my now 10 year old German Sheppard has severe epilepsy. I wanted an alternative to using so much medication and went into the training to help her. It has! I've been able to reduce her medications significantly and help her relax.

I chose acupressure because of it's non invasive nature and my own personal experience with the benefits of it and massage therapy. I am a credentialed elementary school teacher as well as a certified animal acupressure/massage therapist. I still substitute teach, but love animals and wanted to do something to help them, as they cannot speak for themselves. There are a lot of pet owners like me who would love to offer their pet alternative therapies to relieve stress, pain, anxiety, reduce soreness, stiffness, aid in healing, provide comfort, well-being and promote a healthier animal overall. Acupressure balances the whole animal.

Acupressure is based on the ancient art of traditional Chinese medicine. Used successfully for thousands of years, acupressure can benefit animals as well as humans. It can assist in healing, and pain management, as well as provide comfort and an overall sense of well being.

Acupressure with massage is a comprehensive body treatment with an emphasis on the “whole animal”; the physical, the emotional and spiritual. Done properly, it will alleviate stress, physical pain, and restore emotional balance. Treatment increases blood and lymph circulation as well as provides relief from muscle tension, stiffness, and pain.

Like a human athlete's body, equine and canine athletes will benefit from a pre-workout massage. This will allow your animal's muscular system to loosen, preventing injury and allowing them to perform optimally for a longer period of time. Post-workout massage will release metabolic waste and ease soreness.

Supporting animals in this manner provides a non-invasive approach to promote healing and restore balance in our four-legged friends, allowing us to care of our wonderful four legged companions.
