Learn greater consciousness, ease and effectiveness in our communication with our intimate partners and family members as well as with our professional interactions. Individual coaching, couples, group sessions.

Nonviolent Communication, NVC, is a practical way to communicate compassion and assertiveness while supporting an awareness of our interconnectedness and shared humanity. NVC provides concrete ways to create a connection between people where everyone’s needs can be met. It inspires a natural desire to enrich life. Participants experience wholeness and peace where there was pain, find reconciliation and restore a spirit of cooperation and caring for each other’s needs. Compassionate Communication is based on the nonviolent communication model created by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, founder of the Center for Nonviolent Communication and international peacemaker.

Itara O'Connell, B.A., currently facilitates Connecting Compassionately sessions for individuals, couples and groups in the Sacramento area. She is part of the Bay Area Center for Nonviolent Communication Leadership program and has been involved with the Nonviolent Communication community for over 5 years. Her background is in education, social work and bodywork.
